One aspect that drastically changes the look and feel of your house is color. You might think that choosing a color scheme for your home is easy, with so many choices you’re bound to find the right one. But actually it is quite challenging for that same reason, with that many choices you don’t actually know where to start.

One way of dealing with this, is not to start with paint at all. Hold off your color decision until you have finalized the room scheme. Paint is actually the most versatile element of home improvement; it is available in infinite array of colors, easy to change and the least expensive. Color defines your space and may be linked to your character and personality; it also sets the mood for your space. Most people will choose to be on the safe side and have lighter colors in their space because it pleases the eyes, but some will choose to be brave and paint bold colors that will send bold statements to its audience.

Colors are often classified as “warm” and “cool”. Pink, red and orange are considered warm colors, while violet, green, and blues are thought to be cool. If you’re aiming for a dramatic space, it is advised that you go with the deep warm colors as it signifies intimacy and romance. While if you want to go with light tropic like environment, stick with the cool colors as it is the colors of the seas and our natural surroundings.

A dash of color adds life into your space; choose the one that fits you. A new color might take some getting used to; a bold color might seem overwhelming at first but give it time, you might be pleasantly surprised to see that the new color of your room is in total harmony with all the elements.
